The fashion in Run On is amazing.
Run On which is currently airing on JTBC and Netflix has me engrossed with its amazing storyline and charismatic characters. It tells the story of four main characters: Im Siwan as Ki Sun Kyum, a former track and field athlete, a foreign film translator Oh Mi Joo (Shin Se Kyung), Sooyoung as Seo Dan Ah, a sports agency CEO and Kang Tae Oh as Lee Young Hwa, an art student.
While the show has been drawing me in week after week with the romance and friendship between the characters, there is something else that has kept me watching. It’s the fashion and outfits being worn by the main women leads. I mean the male leads also wear some really cool outfits. But it’s the women who truly shine.
Shin Se Kyung and Sooyoung’s characters are very different. Sooyoung mostly works in an office and is often busy having important meetings with important people. On the other hand, Shin Se Kyung works from home and has a more casual approach to her clothes. But both of them are giving me such life with their outfits.
Here are some of my favourite outfits.

As we learn more of Sooyoung’s back story, we found out that she wanted to play soccer when she was younger but was forced to give up her dream. But she still takes any opportunity to play which is why she wears sneakers all of the time. But she doesn’t just wear any old sneakers. She pairs designer sneakers with the most amazing outfits like this one from episode 7. She’s wearing a shorts-jacket-tights combo with sneakers. Perfect for the office but also for a kickabout at the university.
Then we have this flora dress with the sneakers from episode 6.
From the first episode Sooyoung already proved she was the queen of fashion when she paired a tutu-like skirt with a Dior jacket and New Balance running shoes.
And finally for Sooyoung, there’s the tailored jacket she wears in episode 6. There are of course many more amazing outfits but we can’t speak of all of them. She pairs this with a slingback bag. We also love this outfit because she’s being so badass in this scene.
On the other hand we have Shin Se Kyung who takes casual to a whole nother level. My personal favourite was when she teamed up her tracksuit in episode 8 with a blazer. It’s so simple but has such an impact. It was perfect for running around, keeping the set running smoothly while also looking amazing.
In the first episode Shin Se Kyung gave a little taste of her casual sense with the short vest she wore over a white shirt. She also knows the value of teaming up an outfit with a fashionable but comfortable pair of sneakers.
Shin Se Kyung also loves a good layer and she pulls it off so well. In episode 2 she wears a one-piece dress with a simple knit jersey.
I can’t wait to see how the story progresses and whether our first and second lead couples will get their happy endings. But more than that I can’t wait to see what other beautiful and amazing outfits Shin Se Kyung and Sooyoung wear for the rest of the season.
