We can never get enough of ladies running the world, be it in heels or sneakers, and they surely are ruling the K-Drama world. That’s why one article can’t sum up my love and appreciation for such characters and dramas. Here I am with another list of recommendations with our beloved fierce ladies giving us some major life goals.
1. Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo (2016)

A sports-based drama with a perfect blend of adulting, friendship and love around the lives of athletes. Bok-Joo (Lee Sung-kyung) is the focal point of the drama with her ambitions, sturdy personality, and lifting weights. She hides her vulnerability and frail heart under the mask of her SWAG! Bok-Joo is not your everyday girl. She is savage, takes a stand for herself and is ready to fight for her friends and family. Her emotions are as messed up as any 20 years old. The drama is a complete journey about adults undergoing first love, growing up, becoming independent, and struggling to move from childhood worries to grown-up concern. Bok-Joo is the perfect definition of different is beautiful and it is okay to get lost sometimes.

2. Strong Woman Do Bong Soon (2017)

This drama needs no introduction, with commercial and international success under its name, Strong Woman Do Bong-Soon stars Park Bo-young in the titular role of a woman possessing superhuman strength with Park Hyung-sik playing a carefree chaebol. Do Bong-soon strength is inherited but her dream is to work in the video game industry and create a name for herself. Bong-Soon is just like us who desperately wants to become a delicate woman for her crush, wants to have a stable job and live her life normally. Her optimism and never backing down attitude will make you fall in love with her. Throughout the drama, she has exhibited that she is just not about having a super strength but also has the super mental power to channelize the strength assertively. The real strength lies in her heart. Also, Min-hyuk and Bong-soon becomes our lovable one true pair and their relationship will set butterflies in your heart.

3. Secret Mother (2018)

Secret Mother is one of the underrated dramas that aired in 2018. It is a mystery thriller drama starring Song Yoon-ah and Kim So-Yeon in pivotal roles. Kim Yoon Jin played by Song Yoon-ah quits her job to be a homemaker after the death of her daughter. She is focused on raising her son now, who is about to become a university student. She hires a mysterious expert to help her son enter a good university, and the story revolves around the mysteries and collusions of these two ladies. The relationship between the two leading ladies is intriguing, both of them searching for their truths. It is a fast-paced drama with no dull moments. One of the underrated K-Drama which successfully projects every messed up emotion through a prism of strong yet flawed female characters, and a gripping storyline.

4. Search: WWW (2019)

Not one but three ambitious ladies ruling the web world and conspiracies around it. The story follows the life of Bae Ta-mi (played by Im Soo-jung), Cha Hyun(Lee Da-hee) and Song Ga Kyung (Jeon Hye-ji) heading the web portal companies Unicorn and Barro who is at a neck to neck with each other. The drama shows the journey of these three related women as they make their places in this cut-throat corporate world with questions hurled at their consciousness. This is a perfect portrayal of 21st-century working women about their complexities, sacrifices, choices, and conflicts. The question for them remains the same, are they losing too much in their personal life for their professional life? Our characters in this drama are badass, resourceful, smart and conniving. Special mention to the OST ‘Wow’ by, ‘Mamamoo’. A perfect group resonating with the fierceness of this drama.
