K-Drama Rewind: 9 Must Watch K-Dramas from 2018

From office romances and robots to historical dramas and more, 2018 was a dynamic year for K-Dramas. While we may have tuned in to the more light-hearted and romantic series that we can easily watch with a friend, some fan favorites were a little bit more gritty. So whether you are looking for a new K-Drama to binge-watch, or catch up on ones you may have missed, here are nine must-watch K-Dramas from 2018. 

What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim?


Narcissistic and self-absorbed, Lee Young Joon (Park Seo Joon) is the vice president of a company run by his family. Patient and capable Kim Mi So (Park Min Young) has worked diligently as Lee Young Joon’s secretary for nine years. When Kim Mi So decides to resign from her job and focus on herself, Lee Young Joon is less than willing to let her go. As a result, hilarious and silly misunderstandings ensue between these two.

My Mister

Poor and deep in debt, Lee Ji-an (IU) takes care of her deaf, sick grandmother while simultaneously working part-time. The oldest of three brothers, Dong-hoon not only gets entangled in his brothers’ struggle to get back on their feet but also in the drama surrounding his boss and college junior who is also sleeping with his wife.

Come and Hug Me


Childhood sweethearts Yoon Na Moo (Jang Ki-yong) and Gil Nak Won (Jin Ji Joo) were forced to break up when Na Moo’s serial killer father, Yoon Hae Jae (Heo Joon-ho), murdered Nak Won’s parents. Twelve years later Na Moo is called Chae Do Jin, a passionate detective striving to atone for his father’s past. Nak Won is now Han Jae Yi, a popular actress who suffers from panic disorders. The two reunite by chance and fall back in love. Can they overcome their traumatic past and save each other, or will they be lost forever?

Are You Human Too?

Oh Ro Ra (Kim Sung Ryung) is a genius scientist, so when her son, Nam Shin (Seo Kang Joon) falls into a coma after an unexpected accident, she creates an android that looks exactly like him. Android Nam Shin takes the place of the real Nam Shin and it’s business as usual until he gets a bodyguard. Kang So Bong (Gong Seung Yeon) is hired to protect Nam Shin, but things get messy when she develops feelings for the android.

Eulachacha Waikiki


Dong Goo (Kim Jung-hyun), Joon Ki (Lee Yi-kyung), and Doo Shik (Son Seong Won) are three very different young men. Dong Goo dreams of becoming a film director, but is cursed with bad luck, Joon Ki is an eccentric individual who acts to make a living, and Doo Shik is a freelance writer who does nothing most of the time. Together they open a guest house named “Waikiki” in Itaewon. With no clue how to run it, but eager to make money, they enlist Dong Goo’s younger sister, Seo Jin for help.

Radio Romance

Song Geu Rim (Kim So-hyun) is a passionate radio program writer who is stuck as an assistant writer due to her writing skills (or lack thereof). When her radio program DJ ( (U-Kwon) suddenly leaves Korea PD Lee Gang (Yoon Park) suggests she cast top actor Ji Soo-ho (Yoon Doo-joon) known to have the perfect life as the new DJ in an effort to save it. Little do they know he is far from happy and his life is far from perfect, as he suffers from depression and insomnia. Can the two get passed what they lack and save her show?

A Korean Odyssey


Twenty-five years ago Son Oh-gong (Lee Seung-gi), an extremely powerful immortal being, makes a contract with Jin Seon-mi (Oh Yeon Seo), that enables her to call on Oh-gong anytime she needs help. In present-day Seon-mi specializes in buying haunted houses and exorcising spirits while Oh-gong and Woo Ma-wang (Cha Seung-won) are in conflict with each other as they look for a true light in a dark world where evil thrives.

Mr. Sunshine


Eugene Choi (Lee Byung-Hun), escapes to the United States after the 1871 Shinmiyangyo and becomes a Marine Corps officer. Years later when he returns to Joseon for a mission, he meets and falls in love with Go Ae-shin (Kim Tae Ri), an aristocrat’s granddaughter and a member of the Righteous Army. The two face a variety of challenges including Ae-shin’s betrothed since childhood, Kim Hui-seong (Byun Yo-han), Goo Dong-mae (Yoo Yeon-seok), a ruthless samurai, and Kudo Hina (Kim Min-jung), the owner of the “Glory Hotel” where Eugene stays.

Growing up Han Jung-oh, (Jung Yu-mi) lived with her single mother while her father ignored her existence. After graduating from college and struggling to find a job, Han Jung-oh, (Jung Yu-mi) decides to pursue becoming a police officer. There she meets fellow cadet Yeom Sang-Soo (Lee Kwang-soo), who’s also had his fair share of struggles before deciding to become a police officer. The two join Hongil Police Precinct Office and encounter situations they never expected.
